Conversations!

The most beautiful thing I feel about being human is that we can converse, communicate and express! It can start from a simple hello, asking address, advice, or order and can end up in some really interesting, intellectual thought sharing!! It’s so amazing that I have always loved doing that, talking and expressing! Do you connect with others? Can you really do that?

People you know, friends, parents, relatives, elders, youngsters, kids, animals, insects, trees or even with strangers…..Can you express exactly how you feel about anything in the world?

Can you start a conversation? I wasn’t the best with it, but as I mentioned, I wanted to learn through my backpacking Adventure, yes I can do that in a better way now (well I suppose). It isn’t that easy though…

I met people with different backgrounds, mostly taxi drivers, tea stall owners, hotel owners, tourist guides, other backpackers, trekkers, foreigners, Mumbaikar, and most importantly MYSELF!! I met them all with open arms and it worked wonders! We made new friends at Nongriat… Canadian, Spanish, Argentinian, German, and Indian… They all had such inspiring and interesting stories to tell. They shared their stories and I shared mine! Ultimately we had a lot of things in common, passion for travel and understanding the beautiful world around us.

As a part of this, who we are, how we are, who we want to be, how we want to be, and what it is all about being a meaningful human? People with a purpose… And all those questions had so many different answers, all different aspects…

Days were Adventurous and nights were full of discussions… Sometimes around a bonfire, sometimes over a cup of tea, sometimes watching the eclipse, sometimes staring at the full moon. The conversations were always motivating, they helped us keep going despite all odds each of us faced during travels.

We did trekking together, we shared our homemade puries, we ate Maggie together, and we swam  together in the fall, and we shared Sumo (stuffed with 12 people in it from city to city), we skipped lunch and stuffed ourselves with samosas, we did camping together all that and whatnot!!!

Those were people I just met a few hours ago and we were like together for the next 4 days! We shared an amazing bond, it was hard to say bye-bye! A hug and we almost were in tears! Who knew it will be like this… But yes that’s all about packing your bags and going! You never know what’s in store for you!

The owner of our homestay in Kaziranga, we got connected well over jewellery making and cooking. She owned a very beautiful place to stay and a very simple yet organized kitchen and dhaba…..she called it. She was so amazed about my travelling and jewellery making… We kept talking for hours… That’s what I call karmic connection!!

We kept meeting people we met in Nongriat, we met them again in Assam … Maybe 600 km away, unexpectedly! That’s destiny… Few more days with others…! Safaris, discussions, cups of tea, cold nights and early morning safaris, some more discussions …And we were ready to go… Again part ways!!

Be it a day trip taxi driver, a boating guy(who gestured “call me”) offering us tea while waiting for the bus, be them friends from Canada, be them friends from Argentina, be them friends from Mangalore…be it a Homestay owner aunty at Tyrena who offered me a place near chulha, tea and biscuits. When I was too cold…be it homestay uncle at Nongriat… be it, Aunty, at Kaziranga… be them two bikers we met at Rainbow Falls…be it a Mumbaikar who got confused …me being a foreigner… (Ha-ha)…! It was always difficult to say bye-bye…But thanks to you guys who made this journey so wonderful… I will miss you all!! Stay blessed and keep following your dreams!!

Love

Shweta
